The villa offers 250m2 of immaculate space, beautifully designed to enhance rather than overwhelm its wonderful natural surroundings. Floor-to-ceiling glass draws the eye over the pool, across the lawn and down to the sea, accessed via a private gate at the bottom of your garden. The sand is just the shortest of strolls away, but you could equally stay home and enjoy the shady terrace with a drink and book while the kids make the most of the play space, or step back into the air-conditioned cool on a hot summer afternoon. As the heat fades from the day, you could wander along to the Ammothines beach club for sunset drinks; open all day, this is a friendly place that your teenagers can escape to by themselves for a while, but it’s equally welcoming for a family meal or cocktails for two. Alternatively, simply relax and enjoy the privileged view from your villa, with private catering available by arrangement should you wish.

If you feel like some time away from the beach, we recommend the smart little harbour at Pylos, with boats to hire and a rather impressive 16^th C castle to explore. You’re also close to two world-class golf courses: Navarino Dunes and Navarino Bay. The Peloponnese is littered with important remains, but if you only have the appetite for one, consider a drive to Ancient Messini (about 1hr 15mins), one of the most complete sets of ruins in the whole of Greece.

Although situated on its own, Villa Petra is part of the Messinian Nest collection of villas, and guests therefore have access to a range of optional extra services, from pre-arrival grocery shopping to yacht charters, restaurant reservations and reduced green fees at the four prestigious Costa Navarino golf courses.

Footnote: Kalamata flights are understandably in high demand on peak dates. As an alternative, we recommend considering the more competitively priced flights into Athens and a self-drive transfer to your villa.
